CREATE 2024
CREATE is the annual virtual portfolio review for graduating BFA and MFA students in the Graphic Design Department at Tyler School of Art and Architecture. This event provides students with a platform to showcase their work and receive valuable feedback from seasoned industry professionals.
As part of a six-person team, and under the guidance of our professor, we collaboratively researched, designed, and produced the event. As Project Manager, I ensured everything stayed on track—coordinating schedules, tracking designer hours, and balancing workloads to keep the process efficient and seamless.
Our work was awarded with an Honorable Mention for Identity in AIGA Baltimore’s Flux Student Design Competition!

YEAR
Spring of 2024
Our client and professor, Abby Guido, assigned team roles based on individual interviews, which allowed each member to contribute not only as a designer but also by focusing on key aspects of the project. This structure allowed for a well-balanced division of work and a more efficient, collaborative process.
As Project Manager, I was responsible for facilitating this balance by keeping the team organized and maintaining a smooth workflow. I utilized a Gantt Chart to create a clear yet flexible schedule, and to track all project elements from design deliverables to production deadlines. At the end of each meeting, I dedicated time to reviewing our progress with the team, allowing us to effectively delegate tasks and set clear priorities for the coming week.

Each year, the CREATE team develops a unique theme to define the event. For 2024, we chose the tagline “Illuminating New Perspectives” to reflect the ever-evolving design landscape. This theme highlights the innovation and fresh viewpoints embraced by Tyler’s emerging design graduates. The distinctive letterforms symbolize the diverse perspectives and creative identities within the student body, celebrating the multifaceted nature of our community.
When it came to design deliverables, my primary focus was creating social media graphics for Instagram. I designed sign-up posts to attract industry reviewers—an essential step in ensuring we had enough participants to match with every graduating student, ultimately contributing to the event’s success.
To further boost engagement, I reintroduced Alumni Advice, encouraging responses via Instagram Stories and transforming them into polished main-feed posts, making valuable insights more accessible to students while strengthening alumni connections.
Looking back on the culmination of this project and the success of event day, I’m incredibly proud of what our team accomplished. Curious to learn more? Check out our full Case Study!
